Action

General Comments

Wood boring beetle native to North America which preferentially attacks stressed poplar, and possibly, birch trees. Existing legislation should help mitigate the likelihood of introduction to the UK although there is some uncertainty about the reliability of an option to remove 2.5 cm of birch sapwood, so this will be kept under review.
