Action

Statutory action on interceptions and outbreaks. Surveys to be conducted in line with requirements. Good hygiene practice by industry regarding machinery, equipment and tools will complement official activities.

General Comments

Highly destructive quarantine listed disease of plane trees, which appears to be of increasing risk due to spread into northern parts of France. UK legislation has been strengthened in response. Will work with local authorities on surveillance of urban trees and with industry as regards continuing to encourage good hygiene practice.
