In Silico Predictive Toxicology (INSPECT)

Fera offers an in silico predictive toxicology and ecotoxicology assessment service (INSPECT) which uses a number of computational approaches that combine both expert systems and QSAR models using 'read across' to provide weight of evidence based assessments for compounds of unknown (eco)toxicity. This offers a rapid, cost effective and ethical alternative to chemical safety testing in animals.

Chemical safety

This programme provides the scientific analysis, testing, research and development to help responsible authorities across government ensure foodstuffs remain free from pesticide and veterinary drug residues. Key to its success is the ability to develop faster or more sensitive detection techniques.

Our commercial food analytical services are provided through this programme, helping commercial customers meet their obligation to provide due diligence testing of their products in relation to pesticides and veterinary drug residues.
