Citrus longhorn beetle survey
Fera and the RHS have joined forces to help protect UK gardens from a new threat - the citrus longhorn beetle (CLB). This pest poses a great danger to many native trees and only by everyone being on the lookout will we be able to prevent it from establishing in the UK.
We are launching a series of events to help raise awareness of the beetle, and invite members of the public to get involved.
- RHS activity days
Come and visit us at the four RHS gardens to find out about the survey we are launching, see real specimens of the CLB and talk to entomologists and plant scientists. - Build a beetle competition
Use your imagination and build your own model of a CLB with whatever materials you want. Prizes will be available for; most innovative design or entry photo, most accurate beetle and smallest or largest beetle. Come back to the website soon for information on how to enter and terms and conditions for the competition. - Design a 'Wanted' poster
Look out when the children go back in September for a competition to design a wanted posted for CLB being launched through the RHS Campaign for School Gardening.
