The City of York
York is a walled historic city in North Yorkshire, founded by the Romans in 71 AD, under the name Eboracum. York has been a major railway centre since the first line arrived in 1839, and is home to the National Railway Museum.
Tourism is an important part of York's economy and the city attracts many visitors every year from all over the world. The city boasts a wealth of historic attractions, including York Minster, Cliffords Tower and the Medieval townhouse The Barley Hall.

Venue - The Lakeside Conference Centre
The Lakeside Conference Centre is situated within Fera's Sand Hutton site and is the venue for the symposium. The Centre hosts a variety of events every year, from small meetings to large conferences for over 200 people.
