Our commitment to quality

Fera views all aspects of quality as critical to achieving our vision as being recognised as a worldwide centre-of-excellence and partner of choice. This is why we invest time and resources in achieving and retaining accreditation and certification against the key International Quality Standards. These relate to the way we conduct all our business and ensure customer needs are identified, satisfied and wherever possible exceeded.

Our scientific quality is assessed externally by either the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) or by the Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) Monitoring Authority. The accuracy of our analytical testing is further confirmed by our extensive participation in Proficiency Testing Schemes and Inter-laboratory Comparisons. Fera has more than 100 procedures covered by the UKAS accreditation to the ISO/IEC 17025 Standard to give our customers complete confidence in the results we report. The Schedule of Accreditation is now available.

All scientific research is carried out in accordance with the Defra/FSA Joint Code of Practice for Research (JCOP).

Fera is certified to ISO 9001:2008 for all aspects of the business excluding the Government Decontamination Service (GDS) who will brought into the Fera Quality System over the coming months to quickly ensure all aspects of Fera's work is covered by the ISO 9001 Certification.
